Dancing with the stars (DWTS) recently returned with its final season, which kicked off on Monday, September 19, 2022. The new season is hosted by Tyra Banks alongside former winner Alfonso Ribeiro.
DWTS is a competitive dance show that pairs a celebrity with a professional dancer and pits them against other such pairs. The winners are determined by the cumulative scores received from the judges and a live voting system open to all viewers.

1) The queen of salsa, Zendaya
Zendaya appeared on Season 16 of DWTS and was partnered with Ukrainian professional dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy. She has always performed well and collected top scores throughout the season. She even made it to the final, to place second behind winners Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough.
One of his most iconic moments on the show was Trio Challenge Night, which took place in the show’s eighth week. For the round, Zendaya and Val teamed up with Gleb Savchenko and performed a salsa to the song Molengo Dance. They earned perfect 10s from all three judges and Zendaya was even dubbed “The Queen of Salsa” by Carrie Ann.
2) Nyle DiMarco’s powerful emotional performance
Nyle DiMarco is an American actor, model, and spokesperson who appeared on Season 22 of DWTS. It should be mentioned here that DiMarco is deaf, which makes dancing a feat for him. DiMarco was paired with professional ballroom dancer Peta Murgatroyd, and the duo won the title that season.
One of his most impactful and strong performances on the show was in the finale. The duo performed freestyle for The sound of silence by Disturbed, and received a perfect score of 30 from the jury. The performance was not only moving but also impeccably choreographed.
3) The Electrical Chemistry of Rumer Willis and Val
Rumer Willis is the daughter of actors Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. She appeared on the show in season 20, which aired in 2015. Partnered with Valentin Chmerkovskiy, she performed well throughout the season and won the Mirror Ball Trophy.
The duo had amazing chemistry which they played well in their performances. One of their most popular routines came in week eight, which saw them perform Rumba on the song. Maybe, maybe, maybe by Doris Day.
4) Professional Tango by Meryl Davis
Meryl Davis is a former competitive ice dancer who has represented America in ice dancing around the world and has won multiple championships and medals, including two world championship titles as well as gold and silver at the Olympics . She participated in season 18 of DWTS. Paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the duo became the winners of the season.
Her career as an ice dancer played a major role in her victory as she was well versed in maintaining postures and executing the routine flawlessly. One of her best performances on the show came during week six, when the duo performed Tango to the song. to feel so close, by Calvin Harris.
5) Bindi Irwin’s tribute to her late father
Bindi Irwin is the eldest daughter of the late wildlife conservationist and television personality Steve Irwin. She appeared on DWTS when their 21st season aired in 2015. She was partnered with Derek Hough and eventually developed a strong relationship with him.
Bindi and Derek won the Mirrorball Trophy with a record eight perfect scores that season. Among their many performances, one of the most inspiring came in week four, with the duo performing a routine contemporary to the classic, Every Breath You Take, by the police. The performance was performed as a tribute to her late father and left everyone in the audience with tears in their eyes.
6) The performance of Milo Manheim which gives goosebumps to Toxic
Milo Manheim competed on DWTS in 2018, in their 27th season. A Disney actor Zombies franchise, Manheim was paired with Witney Carson as a professional partner. The duo made it to the finals but failed in the public votes, taking the place of the finalists.
Although they didn’t win the contest, the duo delivered some incredible performances throughout their time on the show, one of which was the contemporary routine they performed. Toxic, by Britney Spears. With a Halloween theme, their rendition of the song gave viewers goosebumps, while earning a perfect score from the judges.
7) Helio Castroneves Hi Pachuco dance of The mask
Motor racing driver Helio Castoneves is a four-time Indy 500 championship winner. The Brazilian racing driver appeared and won the fifth season of DWTS in 2007, along with his partner Julianne Hough. The duo delivered incredible and powerful performances and quickly became a fan favorite.
One of the show’s most enjoyable and high-energy performances to date came in week eight of season five. Helio and Julianne choreographed a quick step routine to Hi Pachuco from the 1994 movie The mask. Their energy and enthusiasm radiated throughout the show.
8) Juan Pablo di Pace plays the perfect Gaston in Disney Night
Argentine singer-actor Juan Pablo di Pace appeared on DWTS in their 27th season, which aired in September 2018. He was paired with professional dancer Cheryl Burke. The duo put in incredible performances throughout the season and picked up several perfect scores. Despite being fan and judge favorites, the duo was unfortunately eliminated in week eight.

9) James Hinchcliffe tells the story of Joker and Harley Quinn
James Hinchcliffe is a former IndyCar series driver who appeared on season 23 of DWTS, which aired on ABC in 2016. Partnered with professional dancer Sharna Burges, Hinchcliffe rose through the ranks to finish second on the night of the finale.
While they missed out on the title shot, the duo captured the hearts of many fans with incredible choreography throughout the season. One of their most memorable performances came in week eight, when they chose to perform the Viennese Waltz for You don’t own me by Leslie Gore, while dressed as the iconic pair of Joker and Harley Quinn.
10) Alfonso Ribeiro takes us to the past
Alfonso Ribeiro is an American actor famous for his role as Carlton Banks in the NBC sitcom The prince of Bel-Air. One of her character’s most iconic moments on the show was breaking into a dance to a Tom Jones song.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that fans were thrilled to see the actor include Carlton’s routine in his jazz performance for It’s not unusual by Tom Jones. Ribeiro won season 19 with partner Witney Carson and returned to DWTS as host in season 31.
