It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year since Wanda Vision premiered on Disney+. The series marked the beginning of a new era of Marvel Cinematic Universe content for the small screen. Not only did viewers finally get to see more of Wanda Maximoff and Vision’s love story, but they also got to appreciate Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau. Of course, the series finale opened the door for Parris to return to Wonders. But before that, the actress is celebrating the show’s first anniversary by sharing a retro dance video.
The star took to Instagram to mark the special occasion. Since the show marked the start of her MCU tenure, Teyonah Parris wanted to highlight her first day on set as Geraldine. She couldn’t help but show off sitcom BFF Wanda in all her 1970s glory, and after seeing her full look, Parris decided to go all out in 70s fashion. Chi-Raq the star’s funky moves in the post below:
Teyonah Parris clearly couldn’t hide her excitement, as she seemed to get out of the box right away. train of souls line. But the use of Isaac Hayes’ “Theme from Shaft” is what brought the whole vibe together. In the post, the actress also recalls being nervous as she had to nail her monologue to Wanda Maximoff in this Brady’s Bunch-inspired living room. Additionally, Parris recalled that the speech itself changed every day until she got on set.

Seeing that she was on a Marvel production for the first time, she may not have fully realized how quickly things can move creatively. the Wanda Vision alum later recalled how being on set of the Marvel series was different from other on-set experiences:
I would say things definitely worked out for Teyonah Parris, as she received accolades for her performance as Monica Rambeau. Now, she’s more than ready for her big screen comeback, as she prepared for her comeback by working out. And even before the show started, she asked other MCU stars for advice. Needless to say, she was eager to bring Rambeau to the big screen before filming even began. Of course, the sequel will require a balancing act between the three heroines, but they will surely go well together. Over time, Teyonah Parris could become one of the MCU’s biggest stars, and it’ll be fun to see how she continues to grow into the role of Monica Rambeau.
