Ravi Shastri’s dance video with Ranveer Singh goes viral

Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has once again grabbed the headlines, this time with his dance moves. Since posting the video, it has gone viral on social media. In the video, Shastri can be seen dancing to the song “Hum Bane Tum Bane Ek Duje Ke Liye” with the hero of the recently released movie “83”, Ranveer Singh.

Notably, the movie ’83’, which is based on India’s World Cup victory in 1983, did well at the box office. However, they welcomed the new year together. While sharing the video, Shastri wrote on his Twitter handle:

“#Happy New Year! Entering 2022 will be like… thank you for the dance tips @RanveerOfficial. May 2022 be a wonderful, healthy and inspiring year for each of you 🙏🏻”

Incidentally, Ravi Shastri recently stepped down as India’s head coach after the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. He became the head coach in 2017. Under him, India played 43 Test matches , winning 25 and losing 13, while 5 games ended in a draw.

In 76 ODIs, they have won 51 and lost 22 while in 64 T20I matches, they have won 42 and lost 18. In total, out of 183 matches, India have won 118 matches, lost 53 matches and also drew 5 games.

On the other hand, under Ravi Shastri, India beat Australia in their own backyard not once but twice in 2018-19 and again in 2020-21. Moreover, they were the only Asian team to do so as well. The Indian team have reached the peak of the Test format and played in the final of the inaugural 2021 Test World Championship in England.

“It’s important that the coach and captain have a say in team selection” – Ravi Shastri

Ravi Shastri recently opened up about the current state of Team India. He said now is the time for the coach and captain to have a say in team selection.

“I think it is extremely important that the coach and the captain have a say in the selection of the team, officially in the future. It is very important especially if the coach is experienced enough. J was, Rahul (Dravid east), and the captain should also have a say,” Ravi Shastri said on a Star Sports broadcast.
