NYC Street’s Michael Williams Throwback Dance Video Sparks Twitter Emotions

Michael K Williams, the Emmy-nominated actor who played Omar Little on HBO’s “The Wire,” died Monday at age 54. Williams was found dead by a family member in his New York City apartment and although no cause of death has been released, far but cops are investigating the case as a drug overdose turned fatal while that investigators found drug paraphernalia in his home.

Williams’ sudden passing sent shockwaves everywhere as the actor’s friends and colleagues reacted to the shocking news. Castmates, fans around the world took to social media to remember and pay tribute to the talented actor, including former ‘The Wire’ actor co-star Isiah Whitlock Jr, who wrote how ‘shocked and saddened by the death of Michael K Williams he was.

Amid the shocking news, a peculiar video of the late actor has started making the rounds where he is seen dancing to House music on the streets of New York. The video is from just under a year ago and we see Williams pouring all her energy into the song, which sounds like a remixed version of Djeff Afrozila’s “Celebration” featuring Ade Alafia.

Her dance partner also seems to match her in enthusiasm and together the duo are simply the best thing on the internet to brighten up any dark day with their beats and moves.

Fans reacted emotionally to the video, with many emphasizing the transience of life and the need to live every moment of life.

Many Twitter users commented on how the actor gave off such a warm and happy glow from his presence.

Williams had shared his love for dancing several times over the years in interviews and he began his career as a background dancer. He had worked in his youth as a background dancer with singer Kym Sims and also with George Michael and Madonna as background dancers in their music videos.

Williams’ family announced through the actor’s longtime rep Marianna Shafran of Shafran PR who spoke to The Hollywood Reporter: “It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Emmy nominated actor Michael Kenneth Williams. They ask for your privacy while mourning this insurmountable loss.”

Williams also recently starred in “Lovecraft Country” and “F Is for Family” on HBO.
