Mysore/Mysore: Naatya SabhaMysuru, held Indian classical dance performances at Ganabharathi in Kuvempunagar on July 16 (Saturday) at 5:30 p.m.
The program includes an Odissi dance recital by Vidu. Sindhu Kiran and group, Mysuru; and Bharatanatyam of Vidu. Sandhya Udupa from Bangalore.
Sindhu Kiran is an accomplished artist from Odissi. She has performed extensively throughout India, Europe and Southeast Asia with countless performances at major cultural events. She established a Rudra-Nrityayogashala dance school in Mysuru.
The dancers with Sindhu Kiran in Saturday’s performance are his students – Samaa Ved Moola, Tarana Kuttappa, Harsha Vinod, Vinay Narahari and Pruthe Hawaldar.
Sandhya Udupa is a very talented Bharatanatyam artist nurtured by Aacharya Indira Kadambi. She was also trained in Kuchipudi, Yakshagana and Karnatak Classical Music. A graduate artist from Doordarshan, Bengaluru, she also teaches children at her institute “Udupa Foundation”. Sandhya has been learning Kuchipudi under the tutelage of Guru Vidushi Vyjayanthi Kashi for 7 years. Within the troupe directed by her guru, she led workshops and performed in numerous festivals.
